Poricha Kuzlambu

Well
Heres my first recipe and also my favourtire recipe .
This is my grandma's special, she prepares it daily for dinner with different vegetables.Beleive me,eventhough she prepare it regularly each day the taste increases and still many of my cousins are addicted to my Grandma's food.
Heres the recipe

Ingredients:

Moong dal - 1 cup
chilly powder - 1 tsp
salt - for taste
Karudam or Thalipu Vadagam(usually called as vengaya vadagam, its available in indian grocery stores)
Curry leaves
Rice flour - 1 tsp
Vegetables - any of beans,carrot,Cluster beans(kothavarangai),brinjal,Keerai thandu,drumstick and mango

Method:

* Chop the vegetable into cubes or small pieces.
* In cooker bowl add moong dal, vegetables, chilly powder and add required amount of water.
* Close the cooker and allow 3 or 4 whistles.
* Once it cools off ,remove the vessel.
* In a frying pan add 1 tsp of oil and add the vadagam .
* Once it is fried nicely(I luv that smell of frying it) add the dal and the mixture to it and add salt for taste.
* Allow it to boil for 10 - 15 minutes.
* If the Kuzlambu is not thick add the rice flour with a tablespoon of water and make it into a paste and pour it in the kuzlambu. This will make the Kuzlambu thicker.
* Now switch off the gas and garnish Kuzlambu with curry leaves.

Note:
This entire process can be done within 30 minutes and you can keep the dal with vegetables and rice at the same time in cooker ,that will make the process easy. This is an emergency dish in my home. Moreover moong dal is also good for health and the vadagam that we use for seasonging contains castor oil which is good for digestion.
